Ian Ginn is a creative producer and educationist with 20 years experience in the entertainment and digital media industries. He started to research multi-platform storytelling in 2004, working with students from 2007 in various medialabs on transmedia prototypes and production models. He founded Hubbub Media in 2008 to develop original transmedia properties and formats, recently completing an extensive pilot for sci-fi thriller SALIGIA-7.
Ian is a frequent expert speaker and moderator at international events including TEDxTransmedia, Power to the Pixel, Cannes Film Festival, San Sebastian Film Festival, and Mobile 2.0 Europe, and NPOX Amsterdam.
He mentors producers and mediamakers in various countries on developing their projects and in 2010 he founded the Transmedia Learning Network, a non-profit organisation whose members include an international group of film- and media-schools, to develop and deliver initial transmedia education and training. Ian engages with students in workshops and guest lectures as often as his schedule permits.
Ian is a leading transmedia strategist, advising companies and organisations including Dutch Public Broadcasters VPRO, AVRO and NPO, the Netherlands Film Festival, The Hamburg Film Fund, the European Broadcasting Union, the EU MEDIA Programme, and Sanoma Publishers.
